TIM Anderson is a chef, author and winner of the 2011 series of MasterChef.
The American chef was crowned the youngest ever winner of the BBC1 show impressing the judges with his spectacular Japanese-infused dishes.
Who is Tim Anderson?
Tim Anderson was born in July 12, 1984 in Racine, Wisconsin.
Aged 15, he chanced upon a Japanese cooking show called Iron Chef and fell in love with cooking.
Tim moved to California to study Japanese food culture at Occidental college in LA.
In his early twenties he moved to Tokyo to immerse himself in regional Japanese food for two years.
He met his British wife Laura and together they moved to London in 2008.

When did Tim win MasterChef?
Tim won MasterChef back in 2011 after entering ‘on a lark’.
For his final dish he served up a trio of burgers dedicated to Los Angeles, Tokyo and London – the cities that have come to define his cooking style.
His inventive dishes stunned judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace for their counter-intuitive pairings like cola-braised pork belly and mocha steak.
Tim was commended by both judges throughout the BBC competition for his adventurous cooking and gave them ‘the best culinary explosion’ they had ever seen on the show.
Despite blowing the judges away Tim says he was ‘embarrassed’ with his performance in the MasterChef kitchen having grown as a chef in the years since.
Where does Tim Anderson work?
In 2015, as most MasterChef winners do, Tim went on to open his very own restaurant, Nanban, in the heart of Brixton.
According to his Instagram, the chef has kept busy by hosting various one-off cooking events.
He has also been securing collaborative deals.
He announced on a post, "I am very very excited to announce that my Chicago pizza box is now available to order from @instabox_uk!"
On his Instagram account on December 3, 2021 Tim also announced he would be leaving his Nanban restaurant.
Tim penned a message to fans explaining the reason for his exit saying, "My priorities now have shifted to focus on my family, my cookbooks, and other opportunities."
