Tipping Point host Ben Shephard has left viewers baffled with his latest comment on the popular ITV game show.

The 47-year-old presenter was back on our screens on Friday (April 15) to welcome a new batch of contestants to try their luck against the coin machine.

During the action packed episode, Ben suggested that the counters were "twerking on the Tipping Point".

One fan was struck down with disbelief and penned: "The counter's TWERKING on the #TippingPoint?!"

Another added: "#tippingpoint twerking on the tipping point….. Priceless Ben."

While a third then tweeted: "Did Ben just say counters are twerking on the tipping point?!"

The latest episode saw Michelle, Arif and Kayleigh take on the tipping point in order to take home a healthy cash prize.

Viewers were completely taken aback when player Arif made a major blunder while answering a "simple" question.

Twitter exploded when TV favourite Ben posed the question of: "Known as 'music city', what is the state capital of Tennessee?" to the contestant Arif on Friday night's show.

To which hopeful Arif replied: "Illinois" when the answer is in fact Nashville.

Fans were up in arms over Arif's response, with many taking to social media to post reaction photos and gifs.

"Illinois is the state capital of Tennessee? #tippingpoint," one fuming fan said on Twitter.

Another added: "Ah yes, that well-known city in Tennessee, Illinois #TippingPoint."

This all came as fans of the popular ITV programme were still baffled over the recent format shake-up despite Friday being the fifth consecutive days that the change has featured on air.

Tipping Point returned for a brand new season on Monday, April 11 – which happens to be its 12th season and 10th year on air.

For the first 11 series, the game show started off with four contestants, but series 12 sees just three contestants battle it out for the jackpot.

Tipping Point airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV and ITVHub
