The One Show's Jermaine Jenas gasps as Rosamund Pike recalls horror encounter with blow-up doll

ROSAMUND Pike left The One Show's Jermaine Jenas red-faced after she recalled a horror encounter with a blow-up doll that had a "huge" erection.

The Hollywood star had Jermaine and his temporary co-host Lauren Laverne gasping on the sofa as she told a racy tale about the time she ran into a cheeky stag-do with her family.

During the span of her career, the 42-year-old has won an array of critical acclaim for her roles on the screen, including a Golden Globe and an Emmy Award.

However, no amount of preparation could have spared her blushes from the time she took her young sons on a boat in the town of Český Krumlov in the Czech Republic.

Appearing alongside Rod Stewart, Rosamund said: "We've been living in Prague for two years now, and I took my sons to this idyllic town called Český Krumlov, and we went on a boat trip.

"I thought it was going to be very romantic, very peaceful, lots of learning about sea snakes and river snakes, and instead we came across a stag-do trailing a massive beer keg."

She went on to say that although the beer keg was "practical" to keep the beer cold, she soon realised that something else was trailing behind.

She hilariously continued: "But also, trailing a large inflatable man with a huge erection."

"Which my boy said, 'What's wrong with him, mummy?' Umm, I said, 'He's just excited'."

Lauren was in fits of laughter at the story as Rosamund concluded: "Oh dear, there was a lot of explaining about that."

Fans almost immediately took to Twitter in order to have their say on the hilarious story, too.

One user wrote: "Lauren Laverne's career just flashed before her eyes."

Someone else said: "I don't watch The One Show normally, but if I can be promised Rosamund Pike talking about erections, then I'm in."

Controversy on the show didn’t stop there, either, as musician Rod was urged to “keep it clean” by Jermaine after referring to substance abuse.

At the top of the show, they checked in on Sophie Ellis Bextor, who is raising money for Children in Need with a Dance-a-thon.

Wanting to include their guests, Jermaine asked how long they could last on the dance floor, but had to issue a warning to Sir Rod when he heard his answer.

“Rod, what is the longest you reckon you’ve been out on the dance floor?”

“Erm, well it depends what substances I took before,” the musician replied.

The studio soon fell silent as Rod laughed with Jermaine warning: “Let’s keep it clean!”

The One Show airs weekdays at 7pm on BBC One.
