'The Bachelorette': Is Tyler C. Still in the Running to be the Next Bachelor?08/05/2019
Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette is officially over and though it may not have ended the way that any of us expected, we did get at least one good thing out of the season, Tyler Cameron.
From the moment Cameron came onto our television screens, people began yelling at Brown to pick him. Twitter was constantly ablaze with tweets in support of the James Dean lookalike.
Who did Brown choose?
Unfortunately for Brown, in the end, she chose Jed Wyatt, who turned out to have had a girlfriend the entire time that he was on the show.
As a result, Brown had to break off her engagement.
“I am not with Jed anymore,” Brown told Chris Harrison at the live finale. “The engagement is over, we are not together. That is not what I said yes to. When I said those things, the things that I said to him on my engagement date, I thought that was my day, and I feel like that was taken from me and how special that was, and it’s been really hard to gravel with that, but I know that what I got is not what I ever wanted for a life partner and love that is not built on a foundation of trust and honesty. I have grown so much, and I know I deserved more than that.”
Will Brown and Cameron try to make it work?
Even two months after their breakup, it was clear at the live finale that Brown and Cameron still had chemistry. Now that Brown is single, she is hoping that she and her runner-up can figure out if they can make things work between them.
“Tyler will always have a place in my heart no matter what our relationship looks like,” she recently told People. “The feelings I developed for him were real and they don’t shut off instantly. And it’s hard to say [yet] what the future holds with him, or anyone else.”
And during the live finale, she put her money where her mouth is and asked Cameron out on a date.
“I want somebody to be bold and I’m bold and I make bold moves so you’re an incredible guy and I’m a single girl,” Brown said to him. “So… I don’t know. I thought maybe we could go for a drink and just hang out?”
Cameron happily obliged.
Is Cameron still in the running to be the next Bachelor?
Since Cameron and Brown are potentially going to patch things up, people have been wondering if Cameron is still being considered to be the next Bachelor.
According to Rob Mills, ABC Entertainment’s Senior Vice President, Alternative Series, Specials & Late-Night Programming, Cameron has pretty much everything they look for in a Bachelor.
“He really was sort of a different type of character,” Mills told Entertainment Tonight. “He was really a woke hunk. He was fantastic. … I will say, yes, I’m hard pressed to find somebody that has that much [fandom]. … There’s not even the, ‘Yeah, he’s just not my cup of tea.’ He seems to be everybody’s cup of tea.”
Because of this, Mills said that Cameron will “absolutely” still be in the running as long as he and Brown don’t get back together.
