Strictlys Ellie Simmonds vows to ditch habit for Nikita Kuzmin amid judge drama

Strictly Come Dancing star Ellie Simmonds has made a vow to her pro dancing partner Nikita Kuzmin.

The Paralympic champion has ditched her swimming gear for dancing shoes on this year's series of Strictly, where she's already become a fan-favourite.

But despite her gold-medal-winning swimming skills, it seems Ellie had a fondness for chatting just a little too much, and she's told Nikita she's going to try and curb the habit for next week.

The pair performed a Quickstep to Peppy and George from The Artist on Saturday night (October 8) during Movie Week, and they received 27 points from the judges.

Ellie took to Instagram on Monday after making it through to the next week of the show.

The star thanked fans for their support and admitted she couldn't believe she'd made it through to another week.

She wrote: "Thank you ever so much for the love and support, and everyone who’s keeping us in this Strictly journey, it means the absolute world to us. Having the time of my life.

"Cannot believe we are through to another week (buzzing)."

Ellie then penned a personal message to Nikita which read: "Nikita, you’ve got me for another week – and this week I’ll try to talk less (cannot promise you anything). [Laughing emojis]."

It comes after Nikita questioned head judge Shirley Ballas' critique of Ellie.

Anton Du Beke liked the routine but pulled Ellie up on her footwork, telling her: "I would like those stronger heel leads coming forward because there’s so much to like."

Shirley agreed: “Anton is correct but like everyone else you’re working on your footwork."

But Nikita referred to Shirley's comments about comedian Ellie Taylor as he felt the comments had been conflicting.

The dancer said: "Just a little bit confused because Shirley said previously to Ellie T that everything must be a point so we thought it’s also for ballroom as well but it’s heel in ballroom so we got a bit confused there."

He added: "Next time we’re going to get there".
