Strictly's axed same sex couple Nicola Adams and Katya Jones will dance again on BBC show's live tour

03/31/2021

STRICTLY’S first same-sex pairing Nicola Adams and Katya Jones are to dance together again on the show’s live tour.

The duo had to leave last year in Week Four after testing positive for Covid-19.

But former boxer Nicola, 38, and Russian professional Katya, 31, are “top of the list” of pairings wanted for the 33-date tour due to start next January.

An insider said: “Nicola and Katya’s time on Strictly was cut short in November so this feels like a bit of a lifeline.

“Katya has been on the tour twice and she’d love to go back.

“If Nicola’s schedule will allow, it would be a perfect reunion for them.

“No bookings have been confirmed yet but they’re top of the list and will be approached.”

Judge Craig Revel-Horwood, 56, who directs the official tour, said he wanted to see another same-sex partnership — female or male — and hinted at the pair’s return.

Speaking of Nicola and Katya, he told Good Morning Britain: “Who knows, you may even see them on the Strictly tour . . . there you go.”

Craig added that BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing will return for a full series in the autumn and said he hoped that US-based fellow judge Bruno Tonioli, 65 — kept away last year by Covid travel restrictions — will be back.
