Strictly star exposes secret ‘nerve-wracking’ routines performed off screen

Former Strictly Come Dancing iconJudi Love has opened up about the secret “nerve-wracking” performances she was tasked with doing hours before epic live show.

Last year, the Loose Women panellist blew viewers away with her impressive dance moves alongside her professional dance partner Graziano Di Prima on the hugely popular BBC One dance competition.

The dancing duo made it all the way through to week seven where she sadly lost out to her fellow celebrity contestant Adam Peaty and his partner Katya Jones.

As the comedian continues to cheer on her former professional partner during the 20th series, the mum-of-two opened up about the secret performances the stars perform before the live show.

In an exclusive interview with Daily Star, the raven-haired beauty confessed that she was actually more nervous to practice her routine in front of the cast and crew hours before the show than she was to dance on live TV.

She explained: “I used to feel more nervous about doing a dance three times in front of production because you do three runs [during the dress rehearsal].

“[It’s just] you on your first run, then another one with your outfit on and you see whether you lift your hand and it needs cutting or whatever.”

“And that was more nerve-wracking for me than it was to go live. Live people are clapping for you and stuff [on air].

“But in front of the cameras they aren’t entertained, they’re trying to make sure they have the right angle”, she clarified. “It’s just really nerve-wracking.”

It comes after the TV personality opened up about the “dedication” that goes into being on the beloved ballroom competition.

Speaking to the on the red carpet of the 2022 Ethnicity Awards, Judi described the show as an “amazing” experience as she explained the amount of dedication that goes into producing and performing on the show each week.

She told the publication: “I appreciate it more now that I did it last year. It’s an amazing show, and you can watch people’s skills grow week by week.

“I don’t think people understand how much dedication is put into being in that show – in front of the camera and behind the camera as well.”
