Strictly Come Dancing 2021 is back on BBC One and tonight marks the first of the vote-off rounds. Last week’s scores have been carried over, and they will be combined with the marks from tonight’s live show. On Sunday, the first couple will be eliminated from the series, and here’s what the scores are looking like.
Who is at the top of the Strictly 2021 leaderboard?
The first elimination week is yet to kick off, with the competition returning at 6.45pm tonight (October 2).
Ahead of the show, the couples’ song choices and dances have been revealed and they are as follows:
AJ Odudu and Kai Widdrington
Currently at the top of the leaderboard with a score of 34, presenter AJ impressed the judges with her effortless Jive.
Tonight, she takes on the much slower and more romantic foxtrot with partner Kai, performing to Tears Dry On Their Own by Amy Winehouse.
This dance is worlds away from her first performance, so fans will be excited to see whether she shines in other areas of dancing.
Judi Love and Graziano Di Prima
Loose Women panellist Judi impressed the judges with her moves last week, and she is set to be in her element tonight.
The star said she was comfortable busting out some moves to club classics, and this week she will be dancing to Sean Paul’s Get Busy.
Last week she scored 24 points with her American Smooth, setting her in good stead.
Katie McGlynn and Gorka Márquez
Soap star Katie will be tackling the Jive to Olivia Rodrigo’s Good 4 U, and she will need to pick up the pace.
The actress performed the Tango last week, scoring 22, putting her on the bottom half of the leaderboard.
Nina Wadia and Neil Jones
Actress Nina impressed Craig Revel Horwood with her feisty samba last week and she finished with a total of 24.
This week, she and Neil will be dancing the Tango to Would I Lie To You? by Eurythmics.
She said she had already developed an alter-ego who will most likely be making another appearance tonight for the dramatic number.
Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice
Favourite to win the series, EastEnders actress Rose wowed audiences with her performance last week.
On a score of 22, she has experienced a huge confidence boost ahead of tonight’s Salsa to Cuba by The Gibson Brothers.
Her partner Giovanni has every confidence in the show’s first-ever deaf contestant.
Sara Davies and Aljaž Škorjanec
Sara could be in danger this week as she is one of the bookies’ favourites to leave the competition first.
She is currently at the bottom of the leaderboard with a score of 17 but still has everything to play for.
Tonight, she will be taking on the Foxtrot to Dream A Little Dream Of Me by Cass Elliot.
Hopefully, she will be more in her comfort zone with the slower dance.
Tilly Ramsay and Nikita Kuzmin
Tilly offered up an emotional performance last week and finished with a score of 21.
Tonight, she will be dancing the fun-filled Charleston to Yes Sir! That’s My Baby by Firehouse Five Plus Two.
Adam Peaty and Katya Jones
Adam Peaty was destined to be tough competition and the Olympic swimmer did not disappoint on his first night.
He finished near the top of the leaderboard with a score of 30, and tonight he will be dancing the Quickstep.
He and Katya will be whipping around the floor to Are You Gonna Be My Girl by Jet.
Dan Walker and Nadiya Bychkova
BBC Breakfast star Dan Walker pleasantly surprised the judges last week and finished with a score of 24.
Tonight he will be getting series with a Paso Doble to Giant by Calvin Harris and Rag N Bone Man.
Greg Wise and Karen Hauer
Greg Wise found it difficult to impress head judge Shirley Ballas last week, but he still finished with 24 points.
This week, he will be hoping to make an impression with the first Couple’s Choice of the series.
He will be dancing to If You Could Read My Mind by Ultra Naté, Amber and Jocelyn Enriquez.
John Whaite and Johannes Radebe
John and Johannes left the judges and audience in awe last week and they were joint-second on the leaderboard with 30 points.
This week, the same-sex couple will be dancing the Cha Cha to Starstruck by Years and Years and fans are excited to see a different side to John.
Rhys Stephenson and Nancy Xu
CBBC star Rhys proved he had the moves from the outset and he was thrilled to be Nancy’s first partner on the show.
Last week they finished with a respectable score of 27, and they will hope to add to that this week with the Cha Cha.
They will be dancing to Reach Out, I’ll Be There by Human Nature.
Ugo Monye and Oti Mabuse
Ugo and Oti brought the carnival to the ballroom last week with their entertaining performance.
They may be in second to last place with a total of 18, but they hope to improve things tonight with the Quickstep.
They will be dancing to Bring Me Sunshine by The Jive Aces.
Robert Webb and Diane Buswell
Robert is a born entertainer and he impressed the judges last week with his lively dance, scoring him 20 points.
