Strictly Come Dancing fans have been eagerly awaiting the start of series 20 as Autumn begins, and part of their excitement for the iconic launch show is finding out who celebrity contestants have been paired with. The popular BBC One competition show is set to kick off on September 17, but now the partnerships have been leaked, viewers have been left extremely disappointed, although many have confessed their surprise or excitement at the pairings.
The 20th series will feature the likes of singer Matt Goss, soap star Will Mellor and Paralympic swimming champion Ellie Simmonds.
Several professional stalwarts will also be returning, with last year’s winner Giovanni Pernice, Katya Jones, Gorka Marquez and Dianne Buswell gearing up for a new show.
Some changes have been made though, with four new dancers joining on this special anniversary.
These include European cup winner Vito Coppola, Chinese National Champion Carlos Gu, former Under 21 British National Champion Lauren Oakley and Latin dance champion Michelle Tsiakkas.
Judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Shirley Ballas will take their seats on the judging panel again, but it’s been confirmed favourite Bruno Tonioli has left the series.
It comes after Strictly has seen a number of professional dancers leave over the past two years including AJ Pritchard, Oti Mabuse and Aljaz Skorjanec, who was on the show for nearly a decade.
The previous two seasons have seen alterations made due to the pandemic, so fans have been looking forward to the show returning to its original format.
With September now here, many have been counting down the days until the 20th series begins.
As the anticipation has built, unfortunately, the 15 couples have been leaked online.
Express.co.uk will not be publishing the pairings ahead of the launch show.
It didn’t take long for fans to express their disappointment or excitement over the leak.
