Sharon declares her love to an ex in EastEnders

Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) struggles to resist temptation in EastEnders next week, as she rekindles her passion with one of her exes.

We are, of course, talking about Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters), who made a shock return to the Square just prior to the festive season and subsequently assisted Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) in getting DCI Keeble (Alison Newman) off his case.

Sharon, who allowed Keanu to start building a relationship with their son Albie, has been conflicted about her feelings for the young mechanic, but ultimately she decides to take a chance on love next week.

The pair share a particularly passionate reunion in the bathroom at the Vic following a conversation about their feelings, and they subsequently return to the bar, flustered, with Denise Fox (Diane Parish) making sarcastic comments, which results in other listeners working out what they’ve been up to!

Before Sharon and Keanu have a chance to work out what this means, they’re interrupted by Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), who reveals that Nish and Suki Panesar (Navin Chowdhry and Balvinder Sopal) have submitted a counter-offer for Mick’s (Danny Dyer) half of the Vic.

Sharon, meanwhile, is crushed once more after receiving a voice note from Sam Mitchell (Kim Medcalf), who hints at her having had a romance with Keanu while they were in Spain.

Heartbroken, the former landlady banishes Keanu, who is devastated to have blown his chances with her. But has he really?

Subsequent scenes see Sharon unleash some home truths on the mechanic, but after a chat with Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace), she calls him and reveals that she still loves him.

Keanu hears the voice message Sharon has left him and thus heads over to No.43, where they agree to put aside their differences and go on a date that evening.

is this the beginning of something special?

Or, given that this is Walford we’re talking about, will it all end in heartbreak and tragedy?
