The Million Pound Cube returned for another thrilling instalment on ITV tonight and it was best friends Joseph and Robert who had Phillip Schofield close to losing his cool throughout their time on the show. And early on into their stint, they were struggling to make it past the £5,000 goal. When their fortunes changed, they successfully managed to carry on with the game, which led Phillip to ask: “How can you make that such hard work?”

Contestants get the opportunity to win up to one million pounds on the newly-revived programme.

And tonight, the duo came on and showed they meant business but they didn’t get off to the easiest of starts.

In a joint game together, the friends had to put loose balls back into a tube whilst being timed.

But they didn’t get it right on their first go, which left Phillip doubting whether they would be able to complete the task.

Before another attempt, Joseph noted: “We can’t waste the simplifier, we’re going to go further than this, this is just a little bump in the road.”

However, in a complete turn of fortunes, they managed to beat The Cube on their next attempt

And a clearly rattled Phillip remarked: “How can you make that such hard work! So, you have £5,000!”

Joseph was next in the solo task and had it much easier, managing to complete it on his first trying, leading Phillip to say: “That’s what I’m talking about!”
