PETER Andre has insisted he didn't break social distancing rules during the coronavirus pandemic when Father Christmas entered his home — because Santa "is not human".

The star claimed lockdown rules shouldn't apply to Saint Nick who travelled all the way from the North Pole to drop off some early Christmas presents for the family.

Santa landed on Peter's doorstep and strolled into the Andre's huge home with his bushy beard and thick moustache barely covering his mouth.

The Mysterious Girl singer shared a video of the sweet visit on Instagram and wrote in the caption: "Poor ole Santa, not only does he have to social distance but he didn’t get a word in edge ways’

"PS this was filmed before tier 224 (sic)"

Despite his comments, some fans questioned why Father Christmas had forgotten to bring his protective face mask.

One person typed: "Why would you let a stranger in your house without a mask on?"

To which Pete quipped: "It's Santa he's not human".

In the video, Peter made a point of saying Santa had to stay two metres away from his kids Theo, four, and Amelia, six, who cuddled up to wife Emily, 31.

He said: "Can I just say it's an absolute pleasure to have you here but we feel very bad because this is the one time we've got you, but we can't come close to you because of social distancing."

Santa replied: "We're close in that we can say hello and talk and it is lovely."

Turning to the kids, Saint Nick joked: "Would you like some stinky cheese for Christmas?

"We have 17 sleeps to go so what I thought I would do is bring you something early gifts."

Santa then dished out presents to the kids and Peter's eldest son Junior, before singing Jingle Bells.

The jolly meeting was bittersweet as Junior, Princess, Theo and Amelia had to keep their distance, and were not allowed to give Santa a hug.

Nevertheless, the mood was at an all time high once again as the family headed off to Lapland UK for some festive fun.

Peter was recently shocked when he was told he's on Santa's naughty list.
