Saturday night’s Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? began with Jeremy Clarkson welcoming contestant, Archit to the hot seat as he tried to win as much money as possible. However, Archit didn’t get off to the best of starts after he used four lifelines on one question. Despite his best efforts the accountant went home with a respectable £1,000. Jeremy then turned to the remaining contestants to see who would be facing him next with the fastest finger first question round.
The remaining contestants were given one question with a choice of four answers, they then had to put them in chronological order.
The question was: “Working from the Greenwich meridian, put these countries in location order from west to east.”
The answers were Iraq, Pakistan, Thailand and Japan.
Listing off the correct order of the answers, Jeremy said: “Time is up so let’s first of all see the correct order, shall we?”

He continued: “Iraq is first, then Pakistan, then Thailand and then Japan.
“Right, now let’s see how many people got it right.
“All but two, but who was the fastest?”
As the times came up on the screen, Jeremy was taken aback as two of the contestants answered the questions in the exact same time of 3.56 seconds.
He went on to admit that it was the first time it had ever happened on the programme.
“Oh, hello,” he began. “Well, that’s never happened before.
“Jerome Singh and Glen Bunn both did it in 3.56 seconds.
“So that means Jerome and Glen, I am going to ask you another question and the fastest of you this time providing you get it right, yeah, will be the one who gets to sit in the chair.”
Jeremy asked the pair: “Put these mountains in location order, from north to south.”
The answers they had to choose from were K2, Ben Nevis, Mont Blanc and Table Mountain.
The correct order was Ben Nevis, Monte Blanc, K2 and Table Mountain.
“Let’s see who got it right,” the ITV host added. “Only one got it right and that was Jerome Singe in 3.64 seconds.”
As Jerome took the hot seat, Jeremy told him: “Well, that was all a bit exciting.
“Really exciting and now you’re here. You’re Jerome Singh. You’re a history and politics teacher from Ilford.”
Jerome stormed through the first few questions without hesitation and managed to bag himself £16,000 by using one lifeline.
However, he began to struggle and after using the rest of his lifelines, the teacher went home with £125,000.
Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? returns on Saturday at 8.30pm on ITV.
