Love Islands Paige admits producers spoke to her to make her give Adam a chance

Love Island star Paige Thorne has revealed that ITV producers had to speak to her to make her give Adam Collard a chance after she wrote him off.

The former paramedic had been coupled up with Jacques O'Neill when Adam returned to the show, making him the first islander to come back for another stint.

And it appears Paige wasn't too knowledgeable about his first go in the villa back in 2018, when his behaviour towards his female co-stars drew a lot of backlash.

Paige has now revealed that her co-stars filled her in on Adam's antics, and it completely put her off – even though her romance with Jacques was coming to a dramatic end.

Speaking on FUBAR Radio with hosts Bobby Norris and Stephen Leng, Paige said: "I was like, well, if he was like that then what is he doing in here? He's just going to be a little s**t stirrer. I was going off."

But the 24-year-old got pulled to one side by producers of the show, who recommended she should give Adam a try.

Paige explained: "I was like, because of what the girls have been saying.

"I don't need to have a chat with him to know there's not going to be a difference, and they were like no, be open-minded and just talk to him and give him a chance."

Eventually she did, and they quickly became an item and are still going strong now, though have to deal with their long-distance relationship.

Paige is from Swansea in Wales, while Adam is from Newcastle in the north of England.

Despite the long-distance, Paige has insisted things have been "so good" and that Adam is "simping", saying they see each other when they can.

"Obviously, I'm living in Swansea and he's in Newcastle and when we are away, we just keep in touch and text and whatever," she said.

"But then what we tend to do when we come together, is have proper quality time. So, it works really well in our favour."

She added: "Me and Adam know where we stand with each other, we know where we are at, we know what we’re feeling, and we're just not really bothered about anyone else's opinions."
