Love Island fans are fuming after the "glue" of the show got axed "for nothing" amid an incompatible couple.

Tanyel Revan, 26, was booted out of the villa earlier this week when Jordan Odofin chose Ellie Spence in the recoupling.

And now fans are unimpressed that it has seemingly been admitted that Jordan and Ellie aren't compatible and are purely platonic.

Confessing that she and Jordan were better as friends, Ellie made the admission as the girls enjoyed a brunch away from the villa.

Unimpressed viewers were quick to take to Twitter to fume over Tanyel's absence amid Ellie's confession.

One person wrote: "So my girl Tanyel really went home last night only for this GIRL TO SAY 'its a platonic friendship and I'm not seeing it with him' LIKE WHAT WAS THE POINT OF SENDING TANYEL HOME?? At least with Tanyel and Jordan it COULD HAVE developed."

Another fumed: "So Tanyel went home for absolutely NOTHING."

"Not Tanyel being sent home and just for Ellie to say she doesn’t see it as anything more than a friendship," added a third upset.

While a fourth penned: "Tanyel left for nothing I can’t do this anymore."

And a fifth added: "So Ellie feels purely platonic towards Jordan so Tanyel left for nothing?!?!"

While someone else pointed out Tanyel's impact in the villa, writing: "This scene is making me deep that Tanyel was actually the glue for the girls."

Exiting the show on Thursday, February 9, Tanyel was brutally axed when none of the guys chose to couple up with her.

The most recent recoupling saw Ron and Lana reuniting while Will Young, 23, selected waitress Jessie Wynter, 26.

Footballer Tom Clare, 23, hoped to score with estate agent Samie Elishi, 22, while Shaq Muhammad, 24, chose to stay with Tanya Manhenga, 23.

While Casey O'Gorman, 26, coupled with the villa's newest arrival Claudia Fogarty, 28, the boutique-owning daughter of multiple world motorcycling champ Carl, while Kai Fagan, 24, chose Olivia Hawkins, 27.

Love Island airs every night at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX, with Unseen Bits on Saturdays and Aftersun at 10pm on Sundays.
