Joe Wicks raises over £2m for Children In Need after 24-hour workout

Joe Wicks has raised a whopping £2.1m for Children In Need after taking on the challenge of exercising for 24 hours straight.

Earlier today, Joe, 34, shared that he was celebrating raising £1.5m with a refreshing gin and tonic after his strenuous 24-hour workout.

But The Body Coach’s total has continued to rise throughout the day, with the grand total being announced during BBC One’s Children In Need programme.

The show’s hosts Chris Ramsay and Alex Scott revealed that Joe had broken through the £2m barrier, raising a total of £2,108,229.

‘I can’t believe that! That is incredible’ Joe said in shock as gold confetti rained down on him.

‘Times are tough, and people have come out and been so generous and kind to donate. £2m is so much money, it’s going to help so many children, so thank you to everyone that’s helped.’

After finishing the 24-hour workout earlier today, Joe said he felt ‘so buzzed, full of adrenaline’.

‘I’m gonna bounce all over the room and probably faint downstairs and get to my hotel bedroom and sleep as much as I can,’ he told Zoe Ball.

Earlier this year, Joe became a household name across the nation when he launched his online PE lessons during lockdown, helping people keep fit as they remained in their homes.

The fitness guru was later awarded with an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours, having achieved a Guinness World Record with the workouts and raised £580,000 for the NHS.
