Inside Im A Celeb Gillian McKeiths close bond with music producer Naughty Boy

11/23/2021

DJ Naughty Boy has friends in some rather unexpected places, as it has emerged he's actually pals with 2010 I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! jungle campmate Gillian McKeith.

Former BBC Breakfast presenter Louise Minchin first left fans at home stunned when she admitted during the first episode of the 2021 series that she listens to his music.

And now Gillian, speaking exclusively to Daily Star Online, confessed that the pair actually follow each other on Instagram.

Gillian even acted as an I'm A Celeb guru for the DJ ahead of his castle stint, offering him advice on how to cope with the demands of the hit ITV reality show.

She explained: "I haven’t watched it yet, but I did know that Naughty Boy was going in. Naughty Boy and I follow each other on Instagram, so before he went in I had a tiny chat with him about it – because I couldn’t believe he’s actually doing this!"

Gillian had her own fair share of struggles during her Aussie stint, from fainting during a live Bushtucker Trial to blistering rows with several of her fellow contestants.

She admits that she can look back on her time in the jungle and laugh now, and people still reflect that she made "TV gold" back in the 2010 series.

The celebrity nutritionist continued: "I said to [Naughty Boy], 'Is this true, are you actually doing this?' and he said, 'Yeah, it is true, I'm definitely doing it'.

"I said, 'Oh my God, i hope you know what you're letting yourself in for!" she giggled.

Gillian added: "What I would say about him is I think he will be the cook. He is a fabulous cook, so I could see him taking on that role definitely."

And it looks like Naughty Boy has already taken a leaf out of Gillian's book, after he attempted to smuggle spices into camp to give their rice and beans some flavour.

The rule break – which he later admitted in the Telegraph – is eerily similar to Gillian's in the tenth series, after she got knickers specially made to smuggle additional herbs and spices into camp.

She admitted: "I can tolerate bland, but I was thinking of the others – I thought, 'They won't be able to', so I'll bring in as much seasoning as I possibly can.

"So I got these specially designed knickers. I bought the knickers from Marks & Spencers, and then I went to a dressmaker and I designed all these secret pockets all over the knickers, inside and out!

"I had a lot of stuff in there, it was very heavy. The good thing about it was I looked like I had a very perky bottom!" she quipped.

Naughty Boy isn't the only campmate Gillian is familiar with – she used to work alongside Richard Madeley, the DJ's current cellmate in the Clink.

She explained: "I've heard that Richard Madeley is doing it, and I know Richard from years ago. I used to be on Richard and Judy on This Morning many years ago – going back to the late nineties.

"I used to be a contributor on the Richard and Judy Show so I knew him from that."

She added: "I have a funny feeling he'll get voted for all the trials, because he's just that kind of personality you'd just want to see doing everything, wouldn't you!"
