Gillian McKeith looks unrecognisable as You Are What You Eat returns this week without her after 15 years

FIFTEEN years ago, Gillian McKeith became a familiar face on our screens when she appeared on You Are What You Eat.

The programme was a hit in the noughties, looking at people whose unhealthy eating habits threatened to send them to an early grave.

Gillian, then 47, made viewers squirm by enthusiastically taking on people’s poor diets and inspecting their stools.

The controversial Scot would then transform the way they ate – and felt – in just eight weeks.

However, since appearing on the hit 2007 show, Gillian’s appearance has changed dramatically.

Gillian, now 62, has lived mostly under the radar since her infamous stint on I'm a Celeb in 2010.

As soon as the nutritionist arrived in camp, she whined about a host of phobias, much to the annoyance of viewers at home.

Then, when she was voted to perform a live Bushtucker Trial, she stunned fans of the show and crew alike by collapsing and lying “out cold” on her back.

Since last year, the diet guru has shared a string of bizarre Covid conspiracies on social media and has become an outspoken anti-vaxxer.

She sparked outrage after sharing a bonkers conspiracy theory about vaccine passports – claiming the term "unvaccinated" is dehumanising.

It's not the first time the telly nutritionist has publicly shared Covid conspiracy theories – earlier claiming India’s coronavirus crisis was "not what it seems”.

She also attended a protest against vaccine passports and urged people to “stand up for freedom” as she posted footage online from the rally.

Covid booster jabs protect against Omicron and offer the best chance to get through the pandemic, health officials have repeatedly said.

The Sun's Jabs Army campaign is helping get the vital extra vaccines in Brits' arms to ward off the need for any new restrictions.

Most recently, the 62-year-old was shunned by Channel 5 bosses after they announced a reboot of her former show You Are What You Eat.

After a 15-year hiatus, the dieting programme will be revived with a completely different look, as Trisha Goddard and Dr Amir Khan get set to become the new presenters.
