Everything You Need to Know About ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ Season 13

RuPaul’s Drag Race is the only pure and good thing left in this world, and now that season 12 is over, there’s literally nothing to do but woefully flop around my couch in a sea of cracker crumbs until the show comes back. That, and try to find out everything I can about season 13.

The good news: More Drag Race is coming! The bad news: COVID-19 has completely f*cked up the filming schedule of just about every reality show ever (other than The Masked Singer, apparently). But even so, Drag Race season 13 finally has a premiere date…and a cast list! Behold, an investigation:

When Will ‘Drag Race’ Air?

Okay, SO! Drag Race has been on for years at this point, and it usually follows a pretty predictable schedule. The season airs right at the beginning of the year and wraps up by late spring/early summer, and that’s exactly what will happen in season 13.

VH1 confirmed the new season will air Jan. 1, 2021, at 8 p.m. ET/PT. RuPaul said in a statement that it was filmed safely late last summer with full COVID-19 protocols in place. “Competing safely and fiercely, our 13 queens proved that it takes more than a global pandemic to keep a good queen down.”

What Are the Prizes Again?

Usually, winners get $100,000, a one-year supply of cosmetics, and a crown and scepter to signify their role as unofficial rulers of America.

Who Are the Judges?

Obviously, RuPaul, Michelle Visage, Ross Matthews, and Carson Kressley are expected to make their triumphant returns. Meanwhile, celeb judges are a tightly held secret, but season 12 came through with the likes of Nicki Minaj, Normani, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Daisy Ridley. Expect big things!

Who Are the Contestants?

RuPaul finally announced the brand new cast members, including the show’s first trans man competitor, Gottmik! Check everyone out:
