Emmerdale reveals first look at terror storm ahead of 50th anniversary09/30/2022
Emmerdale’s 50th anniversary is fast approaching, and a storm is brewing that has the village in its path.
Bosses of the ITV soap have been teasing the deadly storm for a while now, and we have finally been given a first look at the wreckage that will be left behind.
‘It’s safe to say that literally the village won’t be the same after this,’ producer Kate Brooks teased, and judging by the pictures we’ve seen, she’s not exaggerating!
Images show fallen trees and debris blocking roads and the sign from the Woolpack dangling precariously.
It is a far cry from the usual serenity of the Dales scenery!
Liv Flaherty star Isobel Steele recalled stepping into the village for the first time after filming the storm.
‘I came in yesterday and saw the Emmerdale sign on its side,’ she said. ‘I completely forgot that had happened! Trees are smashed everywhere, branches… it looks like it’s not been worked in for years. It looks derelict.’
Alongside current cast members, there are three old faces set to return for the occasion, with two characters coming back specifically to visit Faith Dingle (Sally Dexter) in her final days.
Both Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) and Diane Sugden (Elizabeth Estensen) have heard about Faith’s diagnosis and want to see her again.
‘Diane has a great time catching up with people in the village but she has come back especially to see Faith whom she was great friends with.’ Elizabeth explained.
The third character to return is Tracy Metcalfe, played by Amy Walsh.
‘A lot happens for Tracy in a small amount of time.’ Amy teased.
‘She has some news for Nate but when she sees him it’s not as easy to tell him as she may have thought.
‘Her and Vanessa get to spend some quality time together too which has been a long time coming.’
Earlier this week, Emmerdale released the official trailer for the anniversary episode, and it was epic.
In keeping with the birthday theme, everything in the trailer was made entirely from cake, from the village to the characters.
In an impressive display, the cake village was torn apart, teasing the destruction that is to come.
With the storm set to tear the village and lives apart, will things ever be the same in Emmerdale?
Emmerdale’s 50th anniversary episodes will air later this month.
