Emmerdale: Jonny McPherson teases Meena will get comeuppance after murder spree11/02/2021
Emmerdale star Jonny McPherson teases that psycho killer Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu) will get her comeuppance for her murderous ways.
The Dales resident has been causing chaos in the village, murdering Leanna (Mimi Slinger) earlier this year before befriending her dad, Dr Liam Cavanagh (Jonny).
She also beat Andrea (Anna Nightingale) during the recent Super Soap week and left her to die in a maze fire – and attempted to frame Kim Tate (Claire King) for the crime.
However, speaking of the scenes on Good Morning Britain, Jonny suggested that his character could soon get his revenge.
When asked if he will be ‘exacting revenge’ on behalf of his daughter, the actor joked to Richard Arnold: ‘I mean, obviously I’d have to kill you if I told you.
‘The situation as it is, Dr Liam has obviously just lost his daughter and is assuming it’s an accident.
‘But if he was to discover that somebody had killed her, let alone the fact that person who has killed her has been befriending him and acting as a kind of confidant…
‘She’s just digging her grave ever deeper.’
Jonny previously suggested that Liam could take a leaf out of Meena’s book and turn ‘murderous’ when he eventually learns the truth.
‘I just think the red mist will descend, definitely. I think it would take an intervention of some sort for him to not want to just destroy her,’ he said.
‘Liam confides in her [Meena] in a way he doesn’t with other people, and the fact that she would have done all that knowingly, it will just compound the fury that he would otherwise have felt if none of that had happened.’
One surprising person Liam could pair up with for a plan is Mandy Dingle, as Lisa Riley recently vowed that her character could definitely take Meena on.
‘She’d have Meena-flakes for breakfast! I’ve only done two scenes with Paige and she’s amazing,’ she told Inside Soap.
‘But there’s no problem at all there for Mandy – she’d get the cricket bat out! She is completely safe, don’t worry’.
Good Morning Britain continues on weekdays at 6am on ITV.
