Sarah Sugden (played by Katie Hill) has been struggling in Emmerdale as she feels she has no responsible parental figure in her life. The youngster has been growing close to Faith Dingle (Sally Dexter) in recent weeks but she may feel she has no choice but to run away from him after overhearing a conversation between Faith and Brenda Walker (Lesley Dunlop).

In a preview clip for the coming week’s episodes, Faith discusses her health with Brenda.

The Dingle matriarch has been convinced her cancer has returned for some time in the ITV soap.

However, Faith has yet to receive any confirmation from her doctor.

In the clip, Brenda urges her new friend not to worry while she awaits test results.

Brenda begins: “Women have false alarms and fear the worse every day.”

“Not only women,” Faith remarked. “I remember a fella once, every ailment he had his first thought was cancer.”

“Well you’ve been checked out so that’s the most important thing,” Brenda commented.

Faith said: “Yeah but you can’t help thinking I should have done it sooner.”

“Well I know there’s no point in me telling you not to worry,” Brenda remarked.

“I love it when people say, ‘Never regret anything,’” Faith continued.

“Well I wish I was one of those people, Brenda,” she added.

Brenda urged: “There’s no point in worrying about that now.”

“Nobody wants to [die] on their own,” the Dingle matriarch said.

“Well you’re not going to [die] on your own because you’re not going to [die],” Brenda hit back.

“Well just remember whatever happens I do not want to be put in my coffin wearing one of these,” Faith said gesturing to a red wig.

“Otherwise I’ll come back from the dead and haunt you,” she joked.

Brenda suddenly became aware that she and Faith were not alone.

Faith turned around to see a shocked Sarah staring back at them.

How much did Sarah hear? Will Faith finally have to come clean about her cancer fears?

The teenager has been abandoned by her mum Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb) and her relationship with Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) is far from supportive.

Sarah has been leaning on Faith for support but she may feel betrayed if she learns her relative kept her health worries secret.

The teenager has a rebellious history in the village and is no stranger to acting out.

Will she run away from the village after being told by Faith her cancer may have returned?

Emmerdale airs on ITV on weekdays at 7pm.
