Emmerdale fans spot Jamie’s awkward Dingle family tree mix-up as plan unravels

Emmerdale fans were left confused during Friday's episode after Jamie Tate (Alexander Lincoln) made a bit of a mistake when talking about the Dingles.

During the episode, he tried to implicate Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor Draper) and Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) into the hit and run to get police off his case.

He called his mum Kim Tate (Claire King) via video chat and referred to Nate as Belle's "cousin", when in fact he is her nephew.

Nate's father is Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), who is Belle's older half-brother, making her Nate's aunt.

Viewers quickly noticed the blunder and rushed to Twitter to point it out.

One said: "Dear Jamie, Belle and Nate aren't cousins. Nate is Belle's nephew – get your facts right before you try and frame them. Dodgy t***."

Another wrote: "I know the Dingle family tree is confusing, Jamie, but Nate is Belle's nephew."

And a third tweeted: "Have they forgotten Belle is Nate's aunt not cousin?"

Belle and Nate were questioned on their involvement, with police mentioning the fact there was CCTV footage of Belle driving Jamie's car.

Meanwhile, police questioned Nate on his history with the Dingles and Moira, wondering if there was motive for him to have had something to do with the hit and run.

Back in the village, Andrea Tate (Anna Nightingale) was worried but told Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) that she'd stick by Belle and make sure Jamie got sent down.

However he dropped by to see her and pleaded with her to give up her plan, saying he couldn't go to prison and that he was their daughter's dad, after all.

And despite working with Belle up until now, it appears Andrea may be about to double cross her new-found ally.

She told Jamie there was "one thing" that would make her change her mind and help him – but what?

Could Andrea be about to get back at Belle for the affair with Jamie? Or will she stick to her guns and get Jamie punished for the crime he committed?
