Tuesday's (January 4) episode of EastEnders saw Ben (Max Bowden) suggest to Callum (Tony Clay) they go out for an evening.
Overhearing their conversation, newcomer Eve (Heather Peace) invited herself along with Stacey (Lacey Turner).
The group then spotted Ash (Gurlaine Kaur Garcha) near the tube station who decided to join them in the hopes of avoiding her mother Suki who planned on staying in for the evening.
Neil and his friends arriving announced the start of trouble as the group called them "queers".
While Ash was knocked unconscious and Stacey tending to her, Eve attempted to fight back.
Frozen with fear, Ben could only watch helplessly as Callum was beaten multiple times.
Awash with guilt and traumatised by the horrific attack, Ben refuses to open up about his feelings, despite Callum's best attempts.
