EastEnders’ Gray’s next victim ‘figured out’ by fans in chilling Callum twist

EastEnders’ fans feared for Callum Highway’s life during Tuesday evening’s episode, as they witnessed his conversation play out with serial killer Gray Atkins.

Gray (Toby Alexander Smith) killed his third victim last night, pushing Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami) into the path of an oncoming tube train after he tried to run away with Whitney Dean.

The twisted lawyer has killed twice before – he has already claimed the life of his wife Chantelle Atkins, and killed Tina Carter in cold blood earlier this year.

The night after Kush’s death, copper Callum, played by Tony Clay, ran into Gray in the cafe, and started discussing the police report of the market trader's mysterious death.

After Callum shared his doubts about the investigation into his death, several viewers guessed he would be Gray’s next victim.

Some fans speculated Gary would kill Callum as he started to investigate Kush’s murder, taking a fourth victim.

One Twitter user wrote: “Prediction: gray kills callum."

"Gray setting up his next victim… watch your back Callum!," added a second.

And a third agreed: "The amount of plot holes in this story is ridiculous. It literally makes no sense. And I love Callum but that scene was so clumsily written. They also better not be setting this up for him to be Gray’s next victim! I hate this."

While a fourth chimed: "GRAY STAY AWAY FROM CALLUM."

During their conversation, Callum made it clear he believed something sinister was afoot, as he reflected on Kush's happiness with Whitney.

"Off to start a new life together, apparently. I mean, she said that they were happy, excited," he said.

Gray then tried to find out some police information, asking: "Do they know what happened?"

As their conversation continued, Callum appeared to be subtly questioning Gray, highlighting his intense relationship with Whitney.

He said: "Yeah, you're probably one of the few who can understand. I know you two must have got close, what with the kids and everything.

"I'm just really glad that she's got you in her corner. Someone who gets it, who cares."

Does Callum know Gray is behind Kush's murder, and if so, is he putting his life in danger?

EastEnders airs on Mondays and Fridays at 8pm, and on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm.
