Iqra (played by Priya Davdra) has been a background character of late on EastEnders as her storylines seem to have been put on the back burner. However, this could be about to change as the BBC soap gears up to air its dramatic Christmas episodes, which could see one beloved character killed off. Will it be the young businesswoman who meets her maker as another Walford resident seeks revenge on her for meddling in their family matters?

The drama kicks off next week when the Monroe family plan to have dinner together but things don’t go as Aaron Monroe (Charlie Wernham) would have wanted.

This is because his sister, Dana Monroe (Barbara Smith) wants to invite her boyfriend Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell) to join them.

Her brother is strongly against the idea and forbids the youngster from sitting at their dinner table and Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) backs up his son.

Unfortunately, Ian Beale’s (Adam Woodyatt) son overhears the conversation and is left devastated by what the Monroe family are saying.

However, the person he turns to for support is Iqra but this could prove to be a fatal mistake and she could become a murder target.

Having helped Bobby find peace with religion, Iqra has become some sort of a surrogate older sister to the youngster.

Explaining what he heard the Monroe family say about him, Bobby tells his friend about his mental health struggles and his relationship with his girlfriend.

Feeling protective, Iqra goes to speak to Dana and encourages her to fight back against her family to ensure her voice is heard.

It seems the youngster takes Iqra’s advice on board as she ends up bringing her boyfriend along to dinner with her brother and father.

In fact, she demands he is invited or she will refuse to turn up for the family event, with the pair having to give in to defeat.

She deserves some happines

Iqra

As the lunch begins, an awkward atmosphere lingers in the air as Aaron is not happy Bobby is sitting at their dinner table.

The villainous character begins to grill his sister’s boyfriend about his religion but what he’s not prepared for is for the youngster to have the answers ready and waiting.

The dinner finishes without any more hiccups but later on, Harvey finds his son’s blood-stained shirt and questions him about what he’s been up to.

Viewers have already been given a glimpse of the newcomer’s dark side as he returned home in recent scenes and started scrubbing his hands as they were covered in blood.

He manages to talk his father around and even convinces Harvey to give him an alibi when the police come knocking.

However, although he promises his father nothing sinister is going on, he could turn his attentions to Iqra in upcoming scenes.

After finding out she was the one who convinced his sister to bring Booby to lunch, Aaron could be angry with his neighbour for interfering in his family’s business.

Iqra isn’t one to back down from a fight and she will try to stand her ground with the young newcomer, making him aware she is not scared of him.

Unfortunately, his anger could prove to be more deadly than she could have ever thought and he could end up killing her.

This would be a tragic end to her story in Walford as the character has been living on the Square for almost three years.

Since her arrival in 2019, the young woman has seen the departure of her sister, Habiba Ahmed (Rukku Nahar), and her grandparents.

Her uncle, Masood Ahmed (Nitin Ganatra) has also left the Square since she was first introduced to the show, meaning her death would bring an end to the Masood’s time on the programme.

With her girlfriend, Mila Marwa (Ruthxjiah Bellenea), still living on the Square, she could be the one to try and find out what happened to Iqra.

However, will Aaron cover his track enough to make sure there is no evidence linking him to the murder or will he trip up?

How will his family react if they discover he was the one who struck the young woman down in her prime?

The actress who plays Iqra, Priya, has spoken out about her character and how she wants her to find happiness in her new relationship.

“Mila is the first person that she had thought about dating since her break up with Ash [Panesar], so she is excited and nervous.

“Mila is an attractive girl, and I think with Iqra she is thinking this is my time to get over Ash and build something strong without any secrets. There were lots of secrets with Ash and it wasn’t a trustworthy relationship.

“She wants to take that leap and wants to be confident and in her decision… [Irqa] is living on The Square on her own and has realised that she deserves some happiness. I think she wants to do something for herself because in the past it was always for Ash or her sister or her grandparents.”

But will her happiness be taken away from her as she is murdered by Aaron?

EastEnders continues Friday at 8:05pm on BBC One.
