Mick Carter (played by Danny Dyer) wasn’t pleased when he returned to the Queen Vic to find sisters Nancy Carter (Maddy Hil) and Frankie Lewis (Rose Ayling-Ellis) fighting while Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) watched on behind the bar. The fiery stalwart goes on to make a good impression on the EastEnders landlord but could this lead to Mick starting an affair while Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) stays away with her new baby girl.
Walking in on Nancy and Frankie arguing, Mick said: “So living away from Linda and the baby won’t be easy but I’ve got to do it.
“I’ve got to do it for Ollie because he misses his friends, he misses his teachers, he misses his routine.
“I thought I’d bring him back here for a bit of stability and I come in and I’ve got you two cranks smashing the gaff up.”
“She threw a drink in my face,” Nancy remarked and Janine commented: “Which was hysterical by the way.”

Mick scolded Nancy for “holding a grudge” over Frankie accidentally running her over.
The Carter daughter stormed off before Mick berated Frankie for not trying hard enough with her sister.
The landlord then turned his attention to Janine: “Who are you and what are you doing in my pub?”
As Mick tried to find a home for the several boxes of crisps Frankie had accidentally ordered, Janine filled him in on what he’d missed.
“The only good they did while you were away was hiring me,” Janine said.
Mick pointed out that since he’d returned home he no longer needed an extra pair of hands behind the bar while Janine teased the landlord.
“Have we got tourists in? That’s the only time you pull out cockney rhyming slang and tales of the Krays, isn’t it?” Janine quipped.
Ollie called out for his dad as Mick told Janine: “Like I said I don’t even need any help.”
“Let me just stop you there because while you’ve been playing giant Jenga with the crisp boxes I’ve been on the phone to all the local boozers and I’ve managed to get rid of all of them,” she revealed.
“Once they hear I’m Frank Butcher’s daughter they bend over backwards to help me.
“They are the sort of connections you need in a bar manager – no better person for the job.
“I grew up in this pub, feels like home so let me sort of all of this and you go and sort out your bricks and mortars.”
“One other thing,” she added. “Now you’ve done the shouty dad thing follow it up with the cuddly dad thing.
“I was always a sucker for that and you’re clearly very good at it.”
Later on, Mick told Frankie he’d decided to appoint Janine as pub manager.
She protested but he explained he needed as much stability as possible for young Ollie.
