Claudia Winkleman ‘waiting to be fired’ from Strictly Come Dancing after 6 years09/21/2020
Claudia Winkleman admitted that she's just "waiting to be fired" ahead of the new Strictly Come Dancing series.
The 48-year-old television star hosts the BBC dancing competition alongside Tess Daly, 51, and she presented spin-off show It Takes Two before that.
Mum-of-three Claudia revealed that even though she's presented the show for eight years, she still has serious moments of self doubt.
The brunette bombshell told the Daily Mail: "I'm just waiting to be fired. I'm waiting for somebody to tap me on the shoulder and go, 'Oh, sorry, we've got this all wrong, you are not allowed to go in again, we've got Rylan instead'."
She added that her feelings of doubt could be beneficial however, as she said: "I don’t think that’s a bad thing. Imposter syndrome is incredibly useful.
"We've both met people who are like, 'I was born to do this, get out of my way'. I don't want to be that person.
"Feeling – don't throw up – grateful and slightly surprised I think is a good thing. It keeps you on your toes."
Claudia also revealed how her co-host Tess helps her through the nerves, explaining: "I get really, properly vomit-inducing nervous before each show – it’s the responsibility, the idea that I could mess it up that scares me.
"Tess is the person who looks after me and helps me."
The brand new series of Strictly is set to start in a few weeks, with the first episode airing on October 24th.
Contestants will be isolating together in a bid to stay safe amid lockdown, but that's not the only change being made as Bruno Tonioli is not taking part.
The TV judge won't be able to split his time between the UK for Strictly and the US for Dancing With The Stars, so he'll reportedly appear in some capacity via video link.
