BBC Breakfasts Naga Munchetty interrupts guest as fans beg let him speak

07/08/2021

Naga Munchetty came under fire following a heated exchange with Labour MP Jonathan Reynolds on BBC Breakfast on Thursday.

Viewers fumed that the 46-year-old consistently kept "interrupting" and cutting across the discussion to obtain a firm answer to her question about tax increases.

She specifically wanted to know which taxes would need to go up to pay for Universal Credit but some felt her tact was "appallingly rude".

Outraged fans took to Twitter to pen their thoughts.

One person wrote: "Does Naga ever let the people she is interviewing speak without cutting them off and interrupting?"

Another added: "Sometimes the viewer actually wants to hear what the person has to say but can't because of her terrible interviewing technique."

A third fumed: "Naga Munchetty’s interviewing this morning of Jonathon Reynolds was appallingly rude, constant interrupting, bordering on snide. I’m really disappointed, Naga is usually very good."

"What is wrong with Naga? She has just kept interrupting the Shadow Minister. Does she think it makes her look good? It doesn't, she looks silly," read another tweet

While a fifth said: "Bit distasteful listening to Naga Munchetty grilling Jonathan Reynolds about which taxes would have to rise if the poorest in society don't bear the brunt of cost of the pandemic."
