51 Coronation Street pictures: Roy says goodbye, wedding tragedy & trial outcome

Coronation Street lines up one of its biggest weeks of the year to date, with a wedding, an operation and a highly-anticipated trial all on the cards for next week.

The day of Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell) and Chesney Brown’s (Sam Aston) wedding arrives, with the bride-to-be walking down the aisle with brother Paul Foreman (Peter Ash), who battles with his MND symptoms in a bid to create a special memory for his sister.

The couple, meanwhile, exchange vows to the cheers of their family and friends, but Bernie’s (Jane Hazelgrove) not too pleased when she finds out Linda Hancock (Jacqueline Leonard) funded the event.

The bride and groom later take to the dancefloor for their first dance, and Paul makes a speech, but he soon becomes emotional and rushes out, with Gemma following suit.

Will she find out what’s troubling her twin brother?

Elsewhere on the cobbles, Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) pleads with Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) to reconsider after he fails to turn up for Justin Rutherford’s (Andrew Still) trial, knowing Justin could walk free without his evidence.

Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) reiterates Daisy’s concerns to Ryan, before he takes to the stand to tell the court how the stalker terrorised Daisy for months.

Daisy subsequently enters the witness box, but will she be able to relive the attack in a bid to put vile Justin away?

What’s more, will Ryan turn up?

And finally, Roy Cropper (David Neilson) hands Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) a stack of letters for her to distribute if he should die. Evelyn is desperate to know what her letter says, but her attention is soon elsewhere, as she squeezes Roy’s hand as he’s wheeled away for his operation.

Will he be okay?

Coronation Street airs these scenes w/c Monday May 29 on ITV1 and ITVX.
