The blonde beauty wrote: "I've had many supportive messages, too, not least from Angela Rippon, who, of course, witnessed many a Foxtrot in her Come Dancing presenting days."

"You need all these little boosts along the way," she explained.

Helen went on to say: "Gorka brings me a coffee at the start of our training sessions and writes on the paper cup 'You've got this!', so I begin each day in the best possible frame of mind.

Admitting there's also something else that gets her through the day, she added: "We also eat a lot of pastries. Pastries help immeasurably."

On Saturday night, the pair received their first 10 of the series after performing the Jive to the Janelle Monáe track Tightrope.

Prior to their performance, the duo appeared on It Takes Two where host Janette Manrara was forced to halt their "love fest" as the they couldn't stop gushing over each other.

Touching upon the judges comments about them giving off "final vibes," Helen admitted: "I'm really superstitious so I don't even think about next week," before adding she likes to take it one Saturday at a time.

The Spanish dancer added: "I just love the way she listens to everything I say and tries to take it on board and always does her best. On Saturday, in my honest opinion, it pays off because when she dances with me she makes it look effortless.

"That's what you want as a dancer, you know it's not easy but when you make it look easy you know something is working so I'm very proud of her and what she does."

Playfully pushing him on the shoulder, Helen interjected: "No, you're nicer than me!," before Janette chimed: "Oh stop it, it's a love fest!"
