Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper could still reunite for secret Glastonbury set06/24/2019
There’s still hope that Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper will get back together for a special A Star Is Born performance at Glastonbury.
Radio DJ Edith Bowman reignited rumours that a reunion was on the cards on Sunday when she asked Mark Ronson whether the secret gig was still on the cards.
Bradley, who is currently going through a split with ‘fiancee’ Irina Shayk, previously told the BBC Radio 2 host that he had approached organisers for a slot – for reals this time.
Edith, who regularly hosts Glastonbury coverage for the BBC, told Sunday Brunch viewers this weekend: ‘I may know one [surprise act], I can’t possibly say.
‘On my podcast I had Bradley Cooper talking about A Star is Born, and when I spoke to him I was like “I just want to see you guys do a gig, you know play it live.”
‘He was like, “Well, we have been talking to Nick (Dewey) and Emily Eavis about it, we’d do the Park Stage” and I said “That would be amazing!” Bradley Cooper and Gaga doing the Park Stage.’
Bradley secretly played Glastonbury to film scenes as country music artist Jackson Maine in the 2018 film A Star Is Born, in which he falls for aspiring artist Ally.
He called it a ‘place of fear and beauty’ after spending four days there filming and ‘learning the inner workings’ of the festival in 2017.
Last October, he talked to Edith on her Soundtracking podcast about his secret reunion with the organisers.
Bradley, who also made his directorial debut with the film, hinted that he would be well up for doing six songs of pure Jackson and Ally on the Park Stage.
Initially, it was thought that Brad wanted to sing it solo because he firmly told the radio presenter that Jackson was dead.
‘Jackson is gone, he’s gone,’ he said. ‘There is nothing I would want more than to watch me try and do it.
‘But I did speak to Nick [Dewey] and Emily [Eavis] the other day, maybe we could pop up on the Park Stage and maybe do six songs. That would be the only thing I would maybe do.
‘But we wouldn’t announce it… even though I’m talking about it now with a microphone in front of my mouth.’
Notice how he says ‘we’, like Lady Gaga is equally as game for the reunion.
The last time Gaga and Bradley performed their Grammy-winning single Shallow together was at the Academy Awards 2019.
Ever since then, fans have been begging for an encore, especially because the chemistry between the actors was undeniable.
Lady Gaga subsequently insisted that the intimacy they shared during the live performance was all an act, but it’s alleged that Bradley’s girlfriend Irina didn’t see it that way.
In fact, insiders have gone so far as to say that Irina accused Bradley of having an affair with Gaga before their split, earlier this month.
This might not be the most sensitive timing for a super-sensual reunion between Jackson and Ally.
