Katie Price has remarked that "accidents happen" as she offered support to Harry Redknapp after one of his dogs died and the other had a near fatal run in with a Christmas cake.

The 42-year-old former glamour model has witnessed a high number of pets die in recent years including horses that have been hit by traffic and a chameleon who died “of a broken heart” so knows all too well how heartbreaking the death of a pet can be.

Katie showed her support for 73-year-old Harry on Christmas Eve when it was revealed the sportsman’s dog, Lulu, had died – while his other pooch, Barney, had almost died after eating a Christmas Cake containing raisins – which are poisonous to dogs.

Report had revealed that Barney had to have his stomach pumped after eating a cake.

Taking to Instagram, Katie shared a screen grab of the article and wrote a comment reading: "I know how he feels.

"Accidents do happen, such a sad situation," alongside a crying face emoji.

Back in the summer, Katie’s pet bulldog Rolo died in a tragic accident just three weeks after being in the custody of the glamour model and her family.

The puppy had been bought for Katie’s 13-year-old daughter as a birthday present – but was dead within days after it got trapped inside an electric armchair and suffocated.

Rolo had died just five months after their family Alsatian had died after being hit by a car outside Katie’s “mucky mansion” home.

Previously a horse was killed while escaping Katie’s grounds and being hit by traffic, while cats and other animals have also died after being taken in by Katie and her family.
