BBC News presenter Emma Vardy set pulses racing as she delivered Christmas presents wearing a plunging sexy Santa costume.

The Irish correspondent, whose attire was much racier than her usual style, wowed in a low-cut red velvet dress complete with fur lining, a black belt that accentuated her tiny waist and a classic red Santa hood.

The blonde stunner, who is currently the Republic of Ireland Correspondent at BBC News, posed with a glass of bubbly in front of a beautifully decorated Christmas tree as her sleek long blonde locks draped down her shoulders.

The 40-year-old donned the festive outfit as she delivered gifts to family members who were isolating with Covid.

"Merry Christmas Belfast!!," she captioned the post.

"Been out delivering presents on the doorstep to family members struck down by Covid – so couldn’t resist a wee outfit.

"Hope everyone’s having a great day."

Fans rushed to the comments section to praise her saucy snap gushing: "Wow! You wouldn't see Fiona Bruce presenting the Six dressed like that!"

A second added: "Now if you presented news reports dressed like that BBC ratings would go through the roof. Looking well as always."

A third commented: "Hope you're doing the 6 o'clock in this outfit!"

The post comes after she made a spoof sex video of herself and her boyfriend Aaron Adams to raise money for NHS charities.

The controversial clip was one of the segments in a video made by Aaron and friends from his amateur football team to raise money for NHS Charities Together's Covid-19 appeal.

Emma was filmed lying underneath Aaron mouthing along to Queen's hit track I Want To Break Free before the video cut to another of the football players.

The video, however, sparked controversy with the BBC failing to see the funny side. Top telly bosses sent out an email to newsrooms reminding employees about social media use and editorial guidelines in the wake of the video.

A spokesperson for the BBC said: "This was intended to be light-hearted, but Emma accepts it was inappropriate and has removed the clip."

Hasty edits were made to the raunchy scene involving the award-winning journalist, which was eventually edited out of the fundraising video with a new version subsequently shared on social media instead.

Emma recently got engaged to her partner in a stunning sunrise proposal which she shared on social media with her elated fans.

"Wee bit of personal news… this morning my best friend dragged me out of bed & up to our favourite spot to watch the sunrise…and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him," she gushed.
