Recreate The Great Pottery Throw Down at home with great deals to get you creative with clay03/17/2021
THE Great Pottery Throw Down has been a surprise hit during lockdown.
But now the Channel 4 series is over, I’m raring to get creative with clay myself — and judging by the viewing figures, you might be too. Here are some great deals on kit to get you started.
DON’T BE A MUG: Get creative at bargain prices with the paint your own mug set, £2.50 at theworks.co.uk. It’s fab for making your cuppa a little more personal. You could even give the finished mug as a gift. Plus, it’s a cheaper alternative to similar kits sold at maisiegray.com for £12.
GET KITTED OUT: If you are serious about pottery, you’ll need a full kit that contains everything you’ll need to sculpt, carve, paint and seal your own creations. I am loving the Sculpd pottery kit, £39, at sculpd.co.uk. It’s got all the essentials and is cheaper than similar ones sold at Selfridges for £48.
SOMETHING OLD: If you have your own plain garden pots or old ceramics, why not spruce them up with a little metallic paint — or task your kids with getting arty? I love the Wilko metallic paints, £3.50 for six, for adding eye-catching designs. Similar paints costs £15.99 at arteza.co.uk.
FIRST-TIMERS: For something more kid- friendly, nab the Galt first pottery set, £13 at hobbycraft.co.uk. Other kids’ sets are around £20 at Argos and this one is nice and basic so even young ones (six and up) can have fun.
Deal of day
B&M has launched a collection of hanging chairs priced at £30 each.
Choose from black or grey. They really are a bargain so you’ll have to snap one up fast.
LARGE Easter eggs are reduced from £3 to £2 when you scan your Tesco Clubcard until 23 March. The deal includes the Twix egg which comes with a white Twix bar.
WIPING down your skirting boards with a little fabric softener or Fabulosa will prevent the build-up of dust and keep your home smelling amazing at all times.
If you’re always buying scented candles, this is a cheap way to ensure everything smells fresh at all times.
Skincare is so important. I love the Inkey List Retinol Serum, £9.99 for 30ml at Boots.
But far better value is Poundland’s new Retinol Facial Serum, £3 for 25ml, which is part of the budget chain’s new skincare range.
Giselle’s little helper
ALDI has launched a huge clothing clearance sale with up to 50 per cent off.
Prices start from 99p, with half-price items including adults’ and kids’ pyjamas, gloves and socks – which were originally stocked as Specialbuys.
All of the reduced items are available to buy online, with free delivery on any orders over £30.

Spring into the change of season with the new Soreen chocolate & orange 5 mini loaves, just £1 per pack at Iceland.
They’re now vegan-friendly, too.
