One night stand told me he has chlamydia and I am scared to tell boyfriend

07/17/2021

DEAR DEIDRE: MY boyfriend and I weren’t fully committed to each other and I slept with another guy on one of our breaks. We are both 26.

Since then my boyfriend and I decided to make it official as we discovered I’m pregnant with his baby.

Things finally felt solid between us and we were really looking forward to making plans together.

But then this guy who I had the one night stand with got in touch with me.

He told me he had chlamydia and thought his ex had given it to him.

How on earth am I going to tell my boyfriend this? We were just getting on the right track again and this will ruin it all.Take this a step at a time.

DEIDRE SAYS: Firstly, contact your doctor to do what is a very simple test to see if you also have chlamydia.

Please don’t feel embarrassed about this – your doctor will be understanding.

Once you have the results you can decide on your next steps.

Hopefully it will be negative and you can continue to make plans with your boyfriend.

Without wanting to panic you, you do need to know if it is positive, as there is a chance you could pass it on to your baby.
