Followers of the Facebook post commented on tips on how to help the mum with her wash load but it was the suggestion of rewashing with Aspirin which did the trick, she wrote on Facebook: "The clothes have been saved."

The post received over 7000 comments with one woman writing: "I am not showing my husband this – he will do it just to get out of doing the washing.’ while another commented ‘Still trying to work out how your husband managed to wash a whole box of tissues."

It appears that the accident wasn’t as silly as originally thought, according to the author of the post, the tissues were stored in the cupboard above the washing machine so could easily be done.

After receiving many negative comments towards her husband, the mum defended her other half saying: "Just to stick up for my poor husband, he is actually really good at doing the laundry, I barely have to touch it. But this was out of both of our leagues."
