If Zara wanted to do Strictly, she would have King Charless full support, says royal expert

Her husband Mike Tindall proved to be a hit with viewers during his time in the I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! jungle, so could it be time for Zara Tindall to venture into the world of reality TV?

The Princess Royal's daughter, 41, would most likely appear on Strictly Come Dancing if so, Royal expert Duncan Larcombe believes, and her decision to showcase her skills on the dance floor would be with the full support of King Charles III.

“Zara appearing on Strictly is not out of the realm of possibility,” said Duncan. “It would be a gamble, but I think if she were to say she wanted to do it, she’d have the full support of King Charles."

There's no doubt that the mum-of-three, who shares daughters Mia, eight, and Lena, four, as well as one year old son Lucas with Mike, 44, has already been asked on countless occasions to head into the Strictly ballroom, but it might not be long until she agrees to take part.

The expert added: "The invitation will already have arrived on Zara’s mat, probably for the umpteenth time, but it would be a very safe programme for her to take part in. Watch this space…”

Former rugby ace Mike's decision to take part in I'm A Celebrity was definitely risky but it appears to have paid off for him, as he's proven popular with the public and will no doubt be offered some lucrative career opportunities thanks to the show.

He also threw himself into every trial and challenge he faced while in the jungle, and this "reflects positively" on the Royal Family, according to Duncan.

“Appearing in the jungle was a huge gamble for Mike, but it’s really paid off,” the expert stated. “With his raised profile, Mike will now be of more value to more organisations – organisations that might normally want to get a working royal on board – so I think we can expect to see a lot more of him and Zara over the coming year.”

The Royal expert added: “He breezed through everything and that obviously reflects positively on the royal family. That’s just the kind of thing the new King needs. There’s now a legion of people who know who Mike Tindall is and those people might well want to watch the royals just to see more of Mike.”

Mike's time in the jungle will have also positively impacted his and Zara's celebrity status, and they could be set to take on a more prominent role in the Royal Family – maybe even helping out the Prince and Princess of Wales with their workload in the near future.

“The signs are good for Zara and Mike and they might be able to play a more significant role with their celebrity status, if not their royal status," Duncan explained. “Anything that’s good for their profiles should also be good for King Charles."

The passing of Queen Elizabeth II has seen a huge increase in interest in the Royals, which has no doubt seen their workload increase, so it could be time for Zara and Mike to take on some Royal duties.

The expert added: "Since the Queen’s death there’s been an enormous surge of interest in all things royal, so if Zara and Mike do the odd engagement here and there, that’s one less job for William and Kate.

“And let’s not forget that Mike’s mother-in-law is probably the hardest- working member of the royal family, so if he needs advice on getting more involved, he’s got it.”

The couple, along with Zara's brother Peter Phillips, 45, are considered to be the most "down-to-earth" members of the Firm, which also works in their favour.

“Mike, Zara and her brother Peter are all the most down-to-earth members of the family. As a former Olympian, Zara enjoys tremendous public affection, as does Mike.

"She’s never been a princess in title and although she and Peter aren’t working royals, they’re still great ambassadors for the family," Duncan said.
