I won $100,000 on the lottery after thinking my ticket was worth $100 – I had it tucked in my wallet for a month | The Sun12/16/2022
A LOTTERY winner who thought she had only scooped $100 tucked the ticket away in her wallet for a month – only to realise she had won $100,000.
Katrina Nicholls and her husband Ernest have played the lottery for more than four decades.
After buying a Lotto Max ticket, Katrina said she decided to scan the ticket using her phone.
"We’ve tried our hands at all the games over the years," she said.
"I was at home when I checked the ticket on the app. I thought the win was for $100 at first."
Happy with her windfall, Katrina decided to put the winning ticket aside and planned to cash it in at another time.
