Just like its co-founder, Sean Carter (Jay-z), the Rocawear style embodies a sense of style, glamor, and high-status branding with a translation of the casual yet sleek and thorough inspiration of the New York streets. Annual sales for the rapper’s textile company grossed over $700 million. In 2019, Jay-Z bought back the intellectual property of Rocawear after a $15 million court settlement with the Iconix Brand Group.

Mr. Sean “P. Diddy” Combs, also known as Puff Daddy, Puffy, or Diddy, is the CEO of one of the most successful signature sportswear owned by a rapper, only second in line to behind Rocawear. The New York native founded the high-end label in 1998, just one year after the death of Diddy’s friend, business partner, and artist under his Bad Boy record label, The Notorious B.I.G. Since its inception, the company’s gross revenue has exceeded $525 million annually. Aside from men’s sportswear, the fashion brand also markets footwear, fragrances, and other fashion accessories.

With a name like the Billionaire Boys Club/Ice Cream, it may seem a bit intimidating to imagine the actual price of an item. The classy, exotic, and vintage skate-centric streetwear clothing brand was founded by the famed rapper and singer Pharrell and fashion designer and business partner Nigo in 2003. One year later, in 2004, the ICECREAM footwear line was also launched as a subsidiary of BBC. Initially, with a $12 million annual revenue, it increased to $30 million in volume after Iconix invested in the brand. However, similar to Jay-Z with his Rocawear brand, Williams bought back Iconix’s share in the business.

American sweetheart, actress, author, and fashion entrepreneur Kate Hudson took full advantage of the prestige attached to her name when she co-founded Fabletics with Adam Goldenberg and Don Ressler in 2013. The Hollywood actress best known for her roles in Almost Famous and Fool’s Gold partnered Fabletics with the fashion retailer, TechStyle Fashion Group in 2015. Upon inception, it focused mainly on selling men’s and women’s sportswear, footwear, and other ‘athleisure.’ But in 2017, it added items such as dresses, swimwear, slip-ons, and workout shoes. By 2020, the company had amassed more than $500 million in annual sales. In the same year, Hudson included comedian Kevin Hart as an investor and representative of the new brand of menswear. She has also collaborated with Demi Lovato and the Varsity Spirit Corporation.

In 2005, she and her mother, Tina Simpson, founded the Jessica Simpson Collection fashion clothing line geared towards women and children. Beginning first as a shoe collaboration with Nine West, her company found exponential success, and by 2010, her brand could be found in 650 department stores across America. The Jessica Simpson Collection brought in earnings of $750 million in the same year, ranking it at first place compared to other celebrity clothing lines. In 2015, the brand excelled to a whopping $1 billion annually.

In 2016, along with Sir Phillip Green as the co-founder, Beyonce founded the Ivy Park sportswear and apparel store. Under the umbrella of her management company, Parkwood Entertainment, she revealed that she got the inspiration for the brand name from her daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, and Parkwood Entertainment, her managing company. The brand is women-focused and includes sportswear items like tops, bottoms, swimwear, and other items.
