Boy misses his school bus – actually manages to convince mum to keep him at home

It's a super-keen kid who leaps out of bed each morning, ready and eager to go to school .

Given the chance, most children would probably jump at the chance of a day off.

So when one young boy missed his school bus, he realised this was his very chance – all he needed to do was convince his mum.

Twitter user Sarah, from Ohio, recently shared a letter her brother wrote to their mum after having watched his school bus depart without him.

What's a boy to do?

The clever youngster decided to leave his mum a note explaining what had happened, and a list of pros and cons.

"I Missed The Bus," he began.

"As your son, I regret to inform you that I've missed my means of public transportation.

"I know you must be on a roller coaster of emotions right now but rest assured, I've decided to stay home. This was a tough decision to make while you were gone for 20 minutes. I’m probably in my bed moping, so please don’t interrupt me.

"If you require any further assistance, please see the pros/cons cart on the back side."

Demonstrating a strong analytical mind and awareness that he'd need back up his argument, his list included:

"Pros:
– First day home this quarter, grades will be fine.
– Today was gonna be a hard one, can’t get over my hair.

"Cons:
– Might become a habit (doubtful)
– You have to call the school and tell them I’ve got Polio."

OK, the polio reference is quite glib, but otherwise, this is impressive work.

Following Sarah's tweet, others were quick to jump on the fan bandwagon.

Funny as his handiwork is, the question remains; did he manage to convince his mum that he should stay home?

Well – yes!  Sarah later updated her followers, saying: "Update since everyone wants to know, YES. My mom let him stay home. How could she not?!"
