Australia’s ‘power-lifting plastic surgeon’ has revealed what you can do this year to turn back the clock and live a healthier, happier life.

Dr Eddy Dona is well known for his work in plastic surgery, but during lockdown many of his fans marveled over his power-lifting abilities – as he posted videos to social media to pass the time. 

The 50-year-old told Daily Mail Australia that weight lifting is crucial for living a long and happy life.

He says 30 minutes of exercise, even walking, each day is important for everyone’s physical and mental health

‘Thirty minutes of physical activity every day is really important,’ he said.

‘Even if it is just walking, walking every day is great.’ 

The doctor who recently posted  videos completing 220kg dead lifts also said ‘me-time’ is important.

‘Mental health and physical health are linked, so it is important you get me-time every day too, I love lifting so that’s my time,’ he said.

Staying out of the sun is also crucial for a long-lasting youthful appearance, says the doctor who hasn’t had any work done on himself.

‘A tan looks healthy but it isn’t so don’t lay in the sun and try to go to the beach when the sun isn’t too hot,’ he said. 

WHAT ARE DOCTOR DONA’S SECRET’S TO AGING WELL? 

 1- Don’t lay in the sun or visit the beach in peak hours

2- Wear sun cream and a hat in the sun

3- Exercise at least 30 minutes per day 

 4- Make sure your you have ‘me-time’ every day

5- Eat well as much as possible

6- Minimise stress as much as possible

He says eating healthy as much as possible, combined with exercise, me-time, staying out of the sun and good genetics is the perfect combination.

Dr Dona has just recovered from cancer, after picking up on symptoms early. He says he feels good for his age and will continue making exercise a priority to living well.
