Una Healy 'taken aback' by ex-husband Ben Foden's whirlwind wedding08/07/2019
Una Healy was reportedly taken aback when her ex-husband Ben Foden married his new girlfriend Jackie Belanoff Smith after two weeks of dating.
The rugby ace exchanged vows with New York-based Jackie on a yacht in Nantucket, Massachusetts, at the weekend and claimed Una had given him their blessing.
Ben confirmed the rumours by writing on Instagram: ‘The people who needed to know, such as close family and friends were told before anyone else and they are happy for me including my beautiful X wife @unahealy who I love even more for her blessing.’
Despite his claims, the news was apparently a ‘shock to the system’ for Saturdays singer Una, who shares two children with Ben – son Tadhg, four, and daughter Aoife, seven.
‘She’s a strong woman, but her friends have let her know that they will be there for her through this as it is still a shock to the system that Ben would remarry so soon,’ a source told The Sun.
The insider added that Una’s Saturdays bandmates – Fankie Bridge, Mollie King, Rochelle Humes and Vanessa White – rallied to support her through it.
Metro.co.uk has contacted Una’s rep for comment.
Ben revealed on Tuesday that he had only been dating Jackie for two weeks before they decided to tie the knot, hailing her as ‘the greatest human being’ he has ever met.
‘This time last year has been by far my toughest and most turbulent for a number of reasons that many of you I’m sure are aware of, in some way or another,’ he wrote.
‘But I met a girl who seriously swept me off my feet and in a time of hardship showed me love, a deep devoted love. People will say we are mad or crazy or even fools, as @snackyjax and I had only been dating seriously for a little over 2 weeks before deciding to get married.’
Foden, who split from Una in 2018 after admitting to cheating, said: ‘Life is short and you only get one and it’s worth living.
‘Jackie is the greatest human being I’ve ever come across – she’s beautiful inside and out, intelligent, charming, funny, generous, kind, gentle, energetic the list goes on.’
