SZA to Release ‘SOS’ Deluxe Album Featuring 10 New Tracks

SZA will be following up December’s SOS release with an extended deluxe edition. The original version landed as the artist’s sophomore album, over five years after her debut Ctrl.

While fans weren’t sure when they could expect an expanded version of the LP, she broke the news in a recent interview with Billboard commemorating her receiving the publication’s “Woman of the Year” award.

SZA began by expressing her gratitude for the positive reception surrounding the album, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and just this month, was certified platinum by the RIAA.

“Right now, I just have extreme gratitude because I swear to God, I never thought I’d be No. 1 for even a week, let alone seven,” she said.

The R&B artist went on to tell the publication that she would be putting out a deluxe version of SOS with ten additional tracks. She didn’t share an exact release date but said it’s “coming soon.”

Elsewhere in the interview, SZA reflected on expectations for her to put out a record similar to Ctrl.

“I know people wanted [Ctrl’s] “Broken Clocks,” “Love Galore” and all that other sh*t again, but I departed from that by choice,” she said. “Not because I couldn’t do that again; it was just because I wanted to grow. I wanted to do something completely different.”
