Phillips To Host Its Second Online Watches Auction in Geneva

Following the success of last year’s inaugural Geneva Online Auction, Phillips in Association with Bacs & Russo is gearing up to host The Geneva Sessions II in March.

The highlighted timepieces for the auction are curated by specialists at Phillips’ Watch department in Geneva, with the lineup comprising over 50 lots of Haute Horlogerie offerings from prestigious Maisons and independent watchmakers. A handful of relatively new models are featured, spanning a 2017 Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph, 2016 A. Lange & Söhne Grand Lange 1 Moon Phase Lumen, and special edition Czapek & Cie. Antarctique Passage de Drake Roaring Forties.

As for modern vintages, a Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar Chronograph from 2010 and a 2013 Rolex Daytona are also part of the selection. Other highlights include a vintage limited-edition Daniel Roth Monopusher Chronograph, and F. P. Journe’s 2004 Tourbillon Souverain with an estimate of CHF 150,000 – CHF 300,000 (approximately $160,219 – $320,437 USD).

With the announcement of the upcoming auction, Alexandre Ghotbi, the Head of Watches and Head of Sale, Geneva states, “We wanted to have an online sale very different to what has been done before in terms of presentation of the watches, with a very artistic approach to the photography and videography, as well as the cataloging.” He also explains that this auction follows the remarkable 100% sold Le Concours de Complexité: Single Owner Online Auction in Hong Kong, which garnered HK$ 23,562,80 (approximately $300,250 USD) result. On a concluding note, Ghotbi mentions that “Every watch in this sale has been carefully selected for its exceptional quality, condition, and provenance. We look forward to engaging with collectors around the world in the lead up to, and for the duration of, The Geneva Sessions II.”

Phillips Watches Online: The Geneva Sessions II will open for bidding from March 9 – 16, 2023. To find out more about the highlighted pieces and auction details, head over to Phillips’ official website.
