Georgina Burnett, 44, took to her socials on Valentine’s Day to announce the end of her marriage to Andy Flawn. The This Morning presenter explained that she doesn’t need a “pity party” but is instead looking forward to a “happier chapter as a fortunate single mum”.

Georgina and Andy share one daughter, with the former couple having met at university and being together for over 20 years.

Sharing the news with fans, Georgina didn’t say when she and Andy called it quits, instead said she had been “dealing with” the marriage breakdown for the last year.

She wrote on Instagram in view of her 40,000 followers: “So it’s time for me to share some personal news for a change. Something I’ve been dealing with this past year is my marriage splitting up.

“Never easy for anyone, especially the kids, but don’t worry, I’m not alone today and I’m excited about my next happier chapter and making the most of my life as a very fortunate single mum.”

She then used the post to promote her partnership with a skirting brand, having shared the same message on her Twitter account.

Many social media users rushed to the comments to offer support to the presenter after her announcement.

Jmoore2301 said: “Onwards and upwards for the beautiful, bubbly and talented Georgina! He must be mad!”

Nkpattenden added: “You look fabulous (I need to stay away from that cake lol !!!)

“You are definitely ready for your next chapter…..go and find your Harry !xx.”

Roberta_mc98 commented: “Sending you big hugs. And also huge thanks! Such an inspiration.

“I’m suffering myself like many others but you don’t know how much you help others.”

In a now-deleted part of the message, MailOnline reported Georgina also writing: “So please no pity party, I’m moving on and just want to talk about skirting boards today – which one would you go for?

“Sending love to anyone who is finding today difficult for any reason and may you find happiness in whatever you do.”

Georgina did not spend Valentine’s Day alone, however, as she shared pictures of herself with her daughter making heart-shaped pancakes for breakfast.

The presenter often appears on This Morning to show off her upcycled household items and give tips on general home improvement, decluttering and styling.

She was previously a BBC weather forecaster and news reporter for regions around the UK.

She shared a picture five weeks ago of herself on the This Morning set with her daughter and Dermot O’Leary.

Georgina captioned the heartwarming snap: “One of my highlights from 2022 was bringing my little girl into work with me at @thismorning.

“Of course, her highlight was meeting @dermotoleary as she has read all his books twice! Come on, what were your highlights?”

This Morning presenter Josie Gibson was quick to comment on the “cute” picture.
