Alex Jones has shared a further slew of snaps from her newborn daughter's birth as well as the sweet moment she and husband Charlie Thomson took her home.

On Monday, The One Show presenter delighted fans when she announced she had welcomed her third child over the weekend.

And in more snaps shared to her Instagram Stories, the 44 year old gave her followers a glimpse of her labour which initially left her and Charlie bored as they waited around for contractions to start.

"Finally we had a bit of action. Got to love a bit of gas and air…" the television personality wrote alongside an image of herself on a hospital bed.

In the next snap, Alex revealed that the pain was worth it as she looked lovingly down at her little girl, who was in her arms.

"Then the ultimate reward!!!" Alex added with a smiling red-heart emoji face.

The presenter also shared her gratitude to the nurse who helped deliver her daughter, with the caption: "This lady is called Audrey and was outstanding!!!"

Stunning Alex couldn't contain her joy as she went on to share a mirror selfie of her, Charlie and their little one as they stood in the elevator getting ready to head home.

"Eventually we got to take her home to meet her brothers," Alex wrote.

Alex and her husband Charlie announced their happy family news with fans on Instagram a day earlier, sharing several photos of the tiny tot.

She wrote to her 306,000 followers: "We have some news………Our beautiful daughter came safely into the world on Saturday afternoon 21.08.21.

"Tiny, but perfectly formed we are all beyond happy and besotted by her, especially Ted and Kit. Watching them with their brand new little sister is just the best and we can't believe how lucky we are to have the 3 of them and to be a family of 5.

"It still doesn't feel real!!! Thank you to everyone at the Queen Charlotte hospital for all your support again, especially super midwife Audrey. Name will be incoming soon xx."
