Simon Cowells sister-in-law shares fears hell be a groomzilla

Simon Cowell ’s sister-in-law, Emma Lloyd-Cowell, has said she fears he will be a “groomzilla” at his upcoming wedding to Lauren Silverman, which is rumoured to be taking place in London in June.

Speaking to The Sun, Emma, who is married to Simon’s half-brother, Tony, spoke about the upcoming nuptials and the “transformation” she’s seen Simon, 57, undergo since meeting American socialite, Lauren, 44.

Emma said: “Will he be a groomzilla? It’s hard to say. Simon has very clear likes and dislikes.

“He is used to calling the shots on TV and behind the scenes so I’m sure he applies that to all areas of his life, including his wedding.

“But Lauren will have equally strong ideas as it’s her big day too. It’s also important for Eric and Simon’s stepson Adam.

“I’m sure he’s got lots of ideas, plans, and maybe a few surprises for Lauren, but I imagine it will be a low-key, really special day for them.

Before meeting Lauren, Simon was considered an “eternal bachelor” and enjoyed romances with a string of women, but he confessed he never wanted to get married or have children.

His sister-in-law said: “None of us thought this day would come! Simon was a bachelor who never wanted to get married, engaged or be a dad, but look at him now.”

Simon and Lauren have been together for 13 years, however, they first met at the Sandy Lane resort in 2004, when Lauren was vacationing with her then-husband Andrew Silverman.

They share an eight year old son, Eric, and The X Factor mogul Simon is stepdad to Lauren’s son Adam, 16, from her previous marriage to Andrew.

Simon and Lauren returned to Barbados in January 2022, and that is where Simon finally popped the question, reportedly with Eric and Adam present.

Speaking to The Sun about the engagement, Simon said: "I've kind of felt myself engaged for a long time, if I’m really being honest with you. Lockdown and Covid was probably make or break for many relationships,”

Speaking about the proposal itself, Simon said: “I’m not romantic, obviously. And I didn't get down on one knee. Was I nervous? No! I mean, I didn't think she'd say ‘no'.

"We'd sort of discussed rings, and I had an idea of the sort of thing she'd like.”

Lauren has since been spotted with a huge oval-shaped diamond rock on her finger.
