Prince William And Prince Harry Just Came Together To Work On A Project Together04/04/2021
Prince William and Prince Harry were able to put their differences aside, perhaps temporarily, to come together for a very special project that is near and dear to both of their hearts. The brothers had previously been working together to get a sculpture of their late mother, Princess Diana, created. William and Harry made firm plans for the statue’s creation in 2020. The sculpture is set to be placed in the garden of Kensington Palace, and is set to be unveiled on July 1, 2021, in honor of what would have been Diana’s 60th birthday, according to BBC News.
Both William and Harry are expected to attend the event, marking their first public appearance together since Harry and Meghan Markle’s explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey that aired back on March 7, 2021. Many are hopeful that the emotionally charged moment of seeing that statue will reunite the brothers, after several months of what Harry described as “space” (via CBS). Less than one month after the interview aired, William and Harry needed to work together to ensure that their project was ready for the world to see. Read on to find out what the brothers had to do.
Prince William and Prince Harry had to sign off on the statue of their late mother
Prince William and Prince Harry are three months away from the day when the statue of their mother will be unveiled. According to the Daily Mail, Ian Rank-Broadley, a sculptor “whose portrait of the Queen appears on all British coins,” was the person chosen to create the commissioned statue of Princess Diana. A source close to Rank-Broadley told The Sun that William and Harry would both need to sign off on the sculpture ahead of its July 1, 2021, unveiling. “It will have been signed off by William and Harry, that much I do know. I know he did work closely with the boys and I think it will be incredible,” the source shared.
William and Harry have reportedly taken that step, accord to the Daily Mail. “Harry and William [are] said to have signed off [on the] final design for [the] commissioned statue,” the site reported on April 3, 2021. Details about how that process went down were not given. It’s presumed that Harry was virtual, as he is in California, not the UK, but it sounds like both he and William may have been on the same call to discuss the statue, and give their final “okays.”
