Karren Brady has slammed critics of Kate Middleton who took issue with her for taking her own pictures of her children, rather than using a royal photographer. The Apprentice star, 53, branded the remarks as “rather churlish” following the release of Kate’s sweet pictures earlier this year.

How ridiculous to criticise a mother for taking and sharing beautiful photos of her children

The businesswoman made her remarks following comments made by a royal photographer who argued Kate was taking away an opportunity from aspiring photographers and giving them a chance to elevate their career.

Speaking about Kate’s children, Karren penned: “They seem all the happier for being photographed by their mother in natural shots, rather than staged snaps taken by a stranger.

“So for anyone to have issue with the fact that the Princess of Wales delights in sharing her sweet photos with the world is rather churlish, to say the least, don’t you think?

“According to royal photographer John Swannell, Kate is dashing the hopes of a generation of photographers by taking her own pictures of the royal children, rather than letting someone else “make their name” doing it,” she wrote in her column for The Sun.

She went on to add that Kate would have been “damned if she did and damned if she didn’t” .

It comes as the royal photographer said that by taking her own pictures, Kate is denying others the opportunity to make their name in their photography career.

John said: “All the work I got with the royals really elevated my career; nowadays, someone like me just won’t have the chance.

“Those chances should be given to young English photographers.”

However, he did admit that Kate was at an advantage as she knows the subjects of her snaps.

“In some ways, though, Kate is probably right to do it herself.

“She’s not a great photographer, but she just snaps away, and with kids it’s easier if you know them,” he added.

It comes as Princess Charlotte’s seventh birthday back in May was marked with the release of three pictures taken by her mother.

The adorable daughter of Kate and Prince William is all smiles in the photos snapped by her mother who is a keen amateur photographer.

Charlotte can be seen wearing a blue pullover sweater, paired with a sweet collared blouse and navy blue trousers, perfectly in harmony with the flowers surrounding her.

In one snap, Kate and William’s only daughter holds a bluebell, while in another she is hugging the family cocker spaniel.

Last month, Karren shared her sadness about Prince Harry’s relationship with his brother, Prince William, and father, King Charles III, following the death of the Queen.

She began writing about the reports that Prince Harry was “furious” after Charles allegedly banned Meghan Markle from joining the family to grieve for the Queen shortly after her death.

It came as the Duke of Sussex travelled to Balmoral to say his final goodbyes to the Queen on September 8.

In her column for The Sun, Karren reiterated claims that the King “called up” Harry and told him it was “inappropriate” for his wife to be present.

Writing in The Sun, Karren then dubbed the scenario a “toxic mess”.
